A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of conversing with Alex Wilson, a journalist for the VC Reporter. Alex was working on an article highlighting the Ventura County Family Medicine Program and wanted to use our site as an example of the positive impact the training provided via the VCMC program can have both locally and globally.
That article was recently published and, while I am certainly biased, I believe it is a superb piece of writing and we are honored to be included. You can check out the article by clicking on this LINK or by clicking on the above screenshot.
Enjoy!
P.S. None of the impact we have had in the lives of our neighbors in rural Guatemala would be possibe without your incredible support. Please know that our story is very much your story :)
p.p.s. A couple of minor clarifications regarding some details noted in the article.
-My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer many years before I entered college. However, while in college her recurrent metastatic breast cancer did metastasize to her brain, which was a contributing factor in my transferring to Rhodes College (closer to home)
-While it is true that I began my undergraduate studies at Harding University and I was a part of their football team while there, I am under no delusion that I in any way contributed to their recent success (DII national champs in 2023, runner-up in 2025)
